At Newton Athletic, we take on pitch discipline seriously
All players participating in any game for Newton are representing the club and so we insist on the highest standards of ethics & behaviour from our players at all times.
Where a player picks up a referee imposed disciplinary offence (ie: a yellow or red card offence), they (or their parent in the case of junior players) will be responsible for paying the associated fine. In summary the fines imposed by the Football Association are:
· Red cards: £45
· Yellow cards: £15
· Violent conduct: £55
Newton Athletic process
The club is held responsible for the fines and therefore they have to be paid. The Committee has decided that the club will not effectively pay for or ask those players not sanctioned to “subsidise” disciplinary offences and therefore each player (or their parent) is responsible for payment.
The committee has agreed to:
1. Pay all club fines within 14 days using club funds.
2. Email the sanctioned player (or their parent) with a copy of the invoice and requesting re-payment within 14 days.
3. If no payment is received, the player will receive 1 more request requesting re-payment within 3 days.
4. If no payment is received, the player will have their FA registration removed and immediately be ineligible to play for their team. A “sanction notice” will also be logged against them with the Cheshire FA*
* If the player then attempts to change teams for example, they will be unable to become registered (and/or play) at any other team throughout the Cheshire FA’s jurisdiction.
